Excursion Reviews

While other tours and experiences went to the Botanical Gardens, this tour included additional sites that made the total experience more comprehensive. Maria made sure we all had the right instructions and Robert conducted the tour seamlessly. I saw and learned a great deal about greater Chania! Thank you Robert and Maria!

Walking through the botanical garden was like a very mild hike, gets the blood pumping - not intense terrain but it's best to wear proper shoes. And the views...the garden, the mountains, the gorge...wow. The lunch was quaint yet delicious. We were also lucky to have perfect weather throughout the day. To top it off, Robert (our knowledgeable and humorous guide) was able to pick up AND drop off guests at their stay. Great way to spend the morning/afternoon in Chania!

Robert and Maria have put together a wonderful half-day of active touring, a chance to get away from the clamor of the Old City and into the land of goats and mountain switchbacks. Robert was our guide, and he did a wonderful job letting us know the backstory of the places we visited. Bring study shoes and plenty of energy! Robert's entree suggestion at the lunch that topped everything off was superb, and all communications with us were in perfect English. Efcharisto!

I've been on several tours in Chania and this was by far the best. Robert, my guide, was easy to get along with and very knowledgeable, sharing a lot of valuable information about Crete and the areas we toured. We went off the beaten path to places that I never would have had the delight of experiencing otherwise. Although I am older with some knee issues, the tour was paced to my capabilities, which I appreciated. I plan on booking another tour. Five 🌟. Highly recommended.

After reviewing multiple tour options in Chania, I selected CarVentures because they offered tours that included combinations of sites not available in the others. Within minutes of scheduling a tour for the next day, I received instructions from Maria on where to meet and the next day Robert was there right on time to start our first adventure. His friendly demeanor became quite evident and he chatted with the three of us on the tour as we drove to our destinations. He conveyed an amazing amount of information throughout the day and I felt I had seen quite a bit of the area in a single half-day tour. That night I decided I wanted to see a specific site but again I couldn’t find any tours that appealed to me. I reached out to Roger on the off chance he could do a custom tour and he responded almost immediately that he could. We discussed the details and costs and were on the road the next day. We had some great conversation on the 4-5 hour drive and he was also able to customize the tour en route so I was able to see even more of the greater Chania area than I anticipated! I came away from the two days quite satisfied that I had seen almost as much of this area that’s possible this time of year!
